Fine and compelling biography of a marriage, penned by a family intimate, Jacques Petitpierre, between the composer Felix Mendelsohnn Bartholdy and his bride Cecile Jeanrenaud Bartholdy. Bound in a linen weave tan cloth, with browned paper tips, gilt lettering to spine, gilt embossed cameo of Cecile to front cover. Printed, illustrated paper dust wrapper, Brodart-protected, but moderately chipped and worn. Several score fine illustrations. 251 pp. Colored portrait frontispiece of her, and another full-color portrait, all drawn from portraits and topographical engravings.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
