Hardcover. 8vo - 21.5 x 14 cm.; xx - 279 pp. Red cloth over boards with gilt lettering (faded and darkened) on the spine. FRom the title page: "Historical Introduction, Confirmation and Ordinations". Translated for the Benedictines of Stanbrook Abbey by Mildred Vernon Harcourt. Four page introduction by Dom Justin McCann OSB of St. Benet's Hall in Oxford. Three panel fold-out chart facing page 214, a comparative table of the ancient documents reproducing the ceremonial of the ordination of deacons. One 15 page appendix in 4 parts. The library markings a paper label on the lower spine, stamps on the title page and unused attachments on the back end papers. The spine is quite faded and the externals (spine tips and fore corners) show mild wear. Otherwise clean with a sound binding. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted. .
