Cover: Full calf speckled boards, rubbing to corners, beautiful gold gilt work to the spine with green and red leather inlays.
Binding: Very good, no discernible crack and brakes.
Text: Good, clear of notes and signatures but does have books stamp with coat of Arms John Buxton Esq, from what I can understand it could possibly be from the library of English baronet/politician John Buxton:
Overall: A very good edition. Title page does indicate maps, plates and illustrations but I can find no evidence of these in this volume (could be the case in the other ten volumes). Page pagination follows sequence and I can see no cutaways in the text block.
