About This Item
San Francisco: Straight Arrow Publishers, 1968. Original wraps. Very Good +. A well-preserved, very presentable copy of the uncommon March 9th, 1968 issue, issue #7, with the Jimi Hendrix action photo ("Jumping Jimi" -- taken by Baron Wolman) gracing the front cover. Evenly folded for shipping purposes but, happily, no shipping label. A crisp, bright, VG+ to Near Fine example, with just a touch of very light creasing along the edges. Just above the Hendrix cover photo, in bold block letters, is the headline: "Airplane Flies!--Leaves Manager, Battles RCA". (The first 10 issues of Rolling Stone, all published within the first half-year of the magazine's November 9th, 1967 debut, are notoriously scarce, especially in such sharp condition).
