Paris: L'Edition D'Art H. Piazza. Very Good+. 1924. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. A fine binding with covers in green morocco heavily embossed with elaborate arabesque patterns. Spine is in coordinating tan morocco & has four bands nicely decorated in matching green with gilt lettering. Top edge gilt & green marbled endpapers. Custom slipcase with marbled boards, leather edging at the opening & protective felt lining. A limited edition of 500 copies printed on Japan paper. Text in black & red lettering within a decorative green border. [2, viii, 270pp, 1]. Would be rated near fine except for a touch of rubbing on corners. Slipcase lightly rubbed on edges. From the 'ex orient luxe' collection. Franz Toussaint's translation, first published in 1924, contains 170 quatrains in prose was done from the original Persian text. French text. Poetry. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 170 pages .
