New York: Liveright, 1973. Hardcover. 184p., very good first US edition in black cloth and gilt, unclipped dj with one-inch closed tear. Only 1001 copies were printed. Young 2326. Lewis' 1936 satyric roman à clef novel which was suppressed by the original publisher for fear of libel suits. The characters represent Lewis' circle of Nancy Cunard, Virginia Woolf and Arnold Bennett among others.
