Rudy Vallee Ex Libris personalized bookplate with his autopen signature and caricature portrait. Brilliant dark green decorated stamped cloth with light wear to the ends and corner tips; one corner bumped. Original dust jacket is price clipped, worn and chipped along the edge. xii, 301 pp. Rhubarb (1946), about a cat that inherits a professional baseball team, led to a 1951 film adaptation directed by Arthur Lubin. Vallee (1901-1986) was an American singer, actor, and radio host. He was one of the first celebrity pop stars and one of the first crooners; credited with inspiring Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Perry Como to model their voices on jazz instruments. ; 8vo .
