Wodehouse, list of illustrations, introduction by author, notes, A Rex Stout Checklist, acknowledgements and index. Black-and-white photograph of Rex Stout as a young man to the title page. The text is illustrated with 2, of 8 pages each, inserts of black-and-white photographs between pages 172 and 173 and pages 364 and 365. 1/4 green coloured cloth backstrip with silver titles. 3/4 pearl gray coloured boards with self embossed publisher's logo to the front book panel. Minor bumping to the backstrip edges and rubbing to the book corners. Light age toning of the text block edges. Black-and-white photographic dustwrapper, showing Rex Stout to the front dustwrapper panel and Rex Stout and author to the rear dustwrapper panel. Little rubbing and some chipping to the top dustwrapper corners and rubbing to the other dustwrapper edges, creases and dustwrapper panels. Some yellowing of the dustwrapper panels and flaps. Biography of Rex Stout, creator of the incomparable Nero Wolfe detective novels, but had so many other incarnations during his long life. Up to the age of 35 he was: -- a Maths prodigy as a young boy, Theodore Roosevelt's account manager for Roosevelt's private yacht, prolific pulp writer and president of a multi million dollar banking business. His diverse livelihoods and responsibilities continued up until his death. The author to had full access to Rex Stout and his family and many friends and acquaintances to give a well rounded view of a remarkable author and man. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
