About This Item
New York: G.A. Wahlgreen, Publisher, 1900. Hardcover. 8vo. Grey cloth with black lettering and pictorial stamping. 169pp, (31pp). Frontispiece, numerous illustrations, Very good. Faintest of binding edgewear. A tight and attractive first edition (titled "American Edition," though we locate no foreign editions) of this guide to chirognomy, a spinoff of the once-popular "science" of palmistry. Other identical editions are found in blue cloth and red cloth, but no priority is established. The unpaginated section at the close depicts hand prints of an eclectic variety of celebrities of the day -- actors, politicians, etc. "Dr." (formerly "Professor") McIvor-Tyndall was a mind reader, clairvoyant and mystic who died in 1940.
