Appears to be the first American but possibly a later printing as there is no statement of printing but also possibly a regular first printing despite the lack of the usual printing statement or an advance copy this copy came from the library of a book reviewer, as the copyright page notes [in part] "CIP Data Applied For" and has code N23 on page 183 and states was published in Germany in 1982.
