"Assignment Redhead" (released in the US as Million Dollar Manhunt) is a 1956 British crime thriller film written and directed by Maclean Rogers. It is based on the novel Requiem for a Redhead by Lindsay Hardy. The UK title of this film refers to the accordion-playing character central to the plot, Hedy Bergner. Starred Richard Denning who would later go on to play Michael Shayne in US TV series. All Vintage Paperbacks come sealed in 2.5 mil plastic bag and taped closed with removable tape which will not tear the covers if it sticks to them when the book is removed.. First Printing. The author is African-American and a writer for Fireside Theatre; a number of TV producers left California to write books. This being his first of a number of mystery-detective books dealing with the life and times of Gregory George Athelston Keen.

A near fine copy in a very good dust jacket, a little faded at spine, and with a little light edgewear. First edition of the author's first novel, and the first in the Gregory Keen series. The black Australian Lindsay Hardy [1914-1994] began adult life as a salesman before enlisting in 1939; he suffered shrapnel injuries to his legs at Alamein, and permanent damage to his left arm from a Japanese grenade in New Guinea.
