Very Good; slight fraying and small stain at head of spine, corner bumped, a little discoloration on boards. One or two tiny, neat marginal notes (see photo). Bears bookplate and signature of Prof. K.M. Setton (1914-1995) of the Princeton Institute for Advanced Study. Bound identically to our # 98, Geschichte des Königreichs Jerusalem (1100-1291).

Two volumes in one - 521 pages plus the 126 pages of Röhricht's 1904 addenda and index.

Reinhold Röhricht (1842-1905) was arguably one of the most indefatigable, intensive, thorough and meticulous compilers, editors and organizers of materials relating to the history and topography of the Holy Land and the Crusades.

More than 100 years later, Röhricht's Regesta Regni Hierosolymitani continues to be useful to modern scholars of the Crusades. He collected in this volume nearly 1000 charters and royal chancery documents relating to the Kingdom of Jerusalem which were scattered in codices diplomatici throughout Europe and effectively unavailable to historians until he edited and published them.

First editions of this work are hard to find.
