London: The Blackfriars Publishing Co., Limited, 1900. Half Calf. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Not dated, c.1900. Size octavo, 298 pages. Half burgundy calf over burgundy cloth covered boards, five raised bands to the spine with double line borders to the bands gilt titles in the second and third compartments and fleur de lys vignettes in the remaining compartments, top page edge gilt, marbled paste-downs and end-papers. Condition good to very good, corners and edges rubbed, spine has evenly faded to beige colour, front hinge split at top down to centre of second compartment, internally a 1 inch tear without loss to the outer margin of page 1, text pages a little toned, else contents very clean. With tissue-protected colour frontispiece illustration and further black and white illustrations throughout printed on glossy paper.
