About This Item
Princeton: Princeton University Press, 1981. First edition. Hardcover. Near Very Good/Very Good+. 8vo. [7], viii-xvi, [2], 3-293, [3] pp. Bound in dark grey cloth with white and red lettering on the spine. A presentable copy of Salmon's out of print classic in which he argues that Essentialism is not derivable from the Theory of Direct Reference. A book that is still required reading for anyone working in metaphysics or philosophy of language. Traces of edge wear to jacket, two marker scrawls on free front endpaper and one to rear pastedown, some faint traces of foxing, tiny hole near the gutter affecting 27 leaves, light rubbing to the edges of the boards.
