Beige cloth with gilt lettering on a blue panel to the spine; a color pictorial of a horse pasted to the front board, surrounded by a broad blue frame; and with a single-rule blue border on the front board. Edges of the leaves are stained blue. Pictorial end papers. Illustrated throughout with water colors by Wesley Dennis. Interior pages clean, unmarked; one page has slight wrinkling. A fine copy in a good tan board slipcase, with an illustrated title label mounted to the front panel. Slip case has frayed edges at corners and a blue spot on lower. Printed by Zeese-Wilkinson Co. and bound by H. Wolff Book Manufacturing Company..

Synopsis

"The Red Pony" is an episodic novella written by American writer John Steinbeck in 1933. The first three chapters were published in magazines from 1933–1936, and the full book was published in 1937 by Viking Penguin. The stories in the book are tales of a boy named Jody Tiflin. The book has four different stories about Jody and his life on his father's California ranch.
