About This Item

Paris, Impr. de J. L. Scherff, 1809. Hard Cover. [4] p., [1], 96 leaves of plates (4 folded), chiefly illus., plans (engravings); 28 x 38 cm. Krafft was an architect (he was the first to use steel beams in construction) and a keen observer of Paris. This was his fourth book on his adopted city. It shows grand stone-built structures of classical design (they are too grand to be thought of as "houses"). This is a record of domestic architecture in Paris during the reign of Napoleon. Bound in full leather by Hope Bindery; very good. stock#OB779.
