Description:
New Rochelle, NY: The Paragraph Press. Very Good+ with no dust jacket. 1916. Hardcover. Likely first edition. Historic records of New York's New Rochelle are presented in this work. The town was founded by Huguenot refugees in 1688 after their expulsion from France. Many of the town's founders came from La Rochelle, France. Besides important documents, three fold-out maps with plates bearing scenes from the town and photos of documents are included. With lists of notable people and town officals. Transcribed, translated (from the French, presumably) and published by Jeanne A. Forbes. Includes an introduction by Caryl Coleman. --- In full green cloth-covered boards with gilt-stamped spine titling. Volume lacks a dust jacket. --- With a two-inch tear to paper at front hinge (which doesn't affect the stability of the binding), otherwise a tightly-bound, sturdy copy.; Tall Octavo - 9 to 10 in. tall; xvi, 525 pages .
