Housatonic, MA: Housatonic Lodge of Papermakers, 1901. Hardcover. 153p. ledger book in pebbled boards with worn leather spine and corners hinges starting some cover wear and erosion on the front panel, some pages blank but most filled with handwritten meeting minutes, election results, financial records and other notes of the lodge, beginning in 1901 and ending in early 1904. Also laid in are several pieces of related Paper makers' ephemera from same period. The ledger was presented to the lodge by the national vice president; the entries are by several different recording secretaries, all named. Meeting minutes recorded for the Housetonic Lodge of Papermakers from October 19, 1901 through 1903, plus a list of officers for 1904. The ledger begins with the union's formation "The papermakers of this town meet at Central Hall for the purpose of organizing a Papermakers Union" - and includes detailed notes about motions, officer elections, financial matters, applications for membership, social events, etc. The union had a few women members.
