Endpapers and page edges are lightly tanned and foxed. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Light wear to unclipped dust jacket with tears, nicks and creases to spine, edge and corners.

The text is accompanied by Edward Gorey's wonderful b/w illustrations. Boards very good, but lightly rubbed, interior in fine condition. 40 pages. 225 x 145 mm (8¾ x 5¾ inches).

A wonderful book of advice for young women on the politesse of reply after losing their virginity in 'unusual' places. Here one can learn the correct thing to say on being deflowered by Valentino during a Seance, by proxy (!), by a famous crooner or during an American Express tour in the Latin Quarter by an alluring dancer. The discreet but happy dustjacket is enclosed in a clear cellophane protective jacket. The dj is worn and scuffed but still amiable and sweet. The board covers are bright and almost virginal. The contents have evidence of avid readership. Nonetheless the pages are clean, clear, goodhearted, reminiscent of Victoria Mather, mischievous and utterly delightful. fk.
