Philadelphia, 1879. unbound. 4 pages (front and back) on lined notebook paper, 12.25 x 7.75 inches, Philadelphia, November 8, 1879. The first three pages are written in a secretarial hand; the last page, signed by Reading, is written in another hand. This document outlines the purchase of a major tract of land in Pennsylvania which would ultimately be the expansion of Reading's vast railroad and real estate holdings. Also signed by Pennsylvania Senator Wallace. Small closed tear along one of the horizontal folds. In the top margin of the first page, the words "Copy - Original to Mr. Reading" are written in pencil. Extremely rare and in very good condition.<br/> <br/> American financier and railroad baron.<br/> <br/>
