Hobart: Government Printer. 1961. First edition. 158pp, full-page map, 202 plates at rear. Red cloth with dustwrapper (chipped around the edges with small pieces lacking from head of spine and lower rear panel, some closed tears, now in protective sleeve). The book is in very good clean condition, the wrapper good only. ***The dustwrapper has the dates in title as 1830-1962. There is an early reference to the Port Arthur convict-powered railway, and the first railway proper (Launceston & Western) was initially proposed in 1855, so... .
