Cover has wear, soiling, tears, chips, and ink marks. Colonel Robert Selph Henry (October 20, 1889 - August 19, 1970) was an American lawyer, railroad executive and historian. Henry started his career as a journalist in Nashville from 1907 to 1913. He was a secretary to Tennessee Governor Ben W. Hooper from 1913 to 1915. He practiced the law in Nashville from 1915 to 1921. He was an executive of the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway from 1921 to 1934, and the Vice President of the Association of American Railroads from 1934 to 1958. He was the author of several books about the history of the Southern United States, including the American Civil War and the Mexican-American War, as well as railroads.
