About This Item

London England: Adam & Charles Black, 1942. Hardback. Slight foxing to end inside covers. Sunned cloth. Slight wear to corners and top and bottom edge of spine. Couple of small marks to cloth. Grey cloth with blue lettering. The aim of this book is to give for present interest and future record a picture of the activities of the Royal Air Force in the second year of the war. The R.A.F. In Action carried the story down to the end of 1940; here it is continued through 1941. In the first book emphasis was upon Fighters, especially in the Battle of Britian; here more space is allowed to the development of the Bombers and to the men who fight in them. Besides the three operational Command, however, we have endeavoured to illustrate as many as possible of the less well-know branches and activities of the service. Illustrated with 111 photohgraphs in photogravure. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions etc.). First Edition. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Harback.
