It was the first Indian captivity narrative printed in the Republic of Texas and its publication was a sensation throughout the United States. Introduction by William Reese; preface by Archibald Hanna. From an edition limited to 400 copies, this being #7, unsigned. Unpaginated [31 pages]; 20 b&w reproductions; 5.75 x 8.75 inches. Additionally, LAID-IN are two folded sheets from the print run with the first 8 pages of the narrative.
