Illustrator: Edy Leonard. 1.0 kg.; 285, (3) pages in original beige cloth with leather titling block and gilt writing at the top of the spine. The spine section and the edges of the cloth for approximately 1 inch are slightly darkened. Darkening off the top edge of the text block. Traces of foxing to the rear panel, offset tanning of front and rear free end pages. Internally clean, bright and without marking. Translated by Ernest Boyd, the present volume constitutes the 1st English edition of the lectures delivered by Anatole France at Buenos Ayres in 1909. These lectures were published for the 1st time in French in December 1928, and formed the 17th volume of the complete illustrated edition of the works of Anatole France issued by Calmann-Levy."
