Black-and-white photographic frontispiece of Geoffrey Nathaniel Pyke. The text is illustrated with other black-and-white photographs, illustrations or reproductions of documents. Blue coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Plain text dust wrapper with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and white coloured titles to the back strip. The biography of Geoffrey Nathaniel Pyke an unrecognised and unknown the genius of the 20th century. His life lurched from dismal failure through to dazzling successes, who, during World War II, and, under the patronage of Lord Mountbatten, made important contributions to military transport (the first concept and production of what became known as Snow-cats ) for travel over icy terrain was made, fuel shortage solutions and other military transport solutions. But, unfortunately took his own life, when opposition to some of his schemes became too much after the war. Rubbing of the back strip edges and book corners. Some marks to the book panels with patchy tanning of the text block edges and age toning of the pages. Offset tanning to the end pages and original bookseller's rubber stamp to the lower left-hand corner of the free front end page. Creasing of the dust wrapper edges with rubbing to the panels. There is a three-cornered tear to the lower left-hand corner of the back strip. Sunning of the back strip and the rear panel shows quite marked handling stains.
