About This Item

New York: Henry Z. Walck, 1959. Reprint. Paper over boards. VG/POOR. Tasha Tudor. [48]pp. The first and only Walck reprint in the calico size. Light soiling to top edge. The blue of the cover has the slightest hint of green in its age - now more than 60 years old. A nice tight book in a dust jacket that is soiled, foxed and with a half inch tear at the back spine. Unusual in that this shows that Walck overprinted his name where Oxford University Press had previously been - thus dating this copy to ca. 1959 distribution.

Synopsis

Pumpkin Moonshine is the first published work by celebrated children's author and illustrator, Tasha Tudor. The book was written originally for her niece, Sylvie Ann, and tells the tale of a young girl and a runaway pumpkin who was later turned into a jack-o-lantern, otherwise known as a moonshine. -
