About This Item

U. K.: Andre Deutsch / Penguin Books. Near Fine in Good dust jacket. 1971. First Edition. Hardcover. 023396276X . First U. K. Edition, same ISBN as HarperCollins. Introduction by Lord Goodman. HC/DJ - near fine/good. Hardcover is clean, with slight bumping/wear to spine ends and corners. Pages are clean and intact, with no markings, light age tanning to interior. Dustjacket has light edgewear, several tiny edge tears and one longer tear on front. Some of the tears have been neatly taped. Light age tanning and light soiling to rear of jacket, not price clipped. Authors, agents and publishers have long argued for the legal recognition of some kind of 'Public lending right' scheme whereby authors would be entitled to payment each time one of their books is taken out of a public library. This book offers a forum for a distinguished team of contributors to argue the case for PLR. With chapters from John Fowles, Angus Wilson, Victor Bonham-Carter and others. (215os,0315) ; 8vo; 112 pages .
