Partial browning to the free endpapers, a few fox marks to the first and last few leaves, otherwise a clean bright unmarked copy (with the twenty page advertisement section headed 'A Selection from Duckworth & Co.'s List of Publications') in the publisher's dark-blue cloth with gilt lettering to the upper board and to the spine with gilt rules to the extremities and with the publisher's monogram blocked in blind to the foot of the lower board.
