Good (ex-library w/ internal stamps, usual markings, etc. scuffs & scratches to boards; sunning to back cover; edge-wear. corners rubbed. spine sunned w/ ends chipped & torn. 1inch split to upper gutter/hinge of back cover.). maroon cloth boards w/ gilt printing & emblem; gilt spine embellishments & black, gilt title plate. 183 pgs w/ various bw illustrations & plates; section of 60 bw plates. text in German. Appears to have had it's textblock rebound. Textblock is firm with intact pages. Spine sunned but gilt printing and designs remain bright and defined. Frontispiece with tissue-guard intact. Pages appear clean, but, may have instances of underlining, marginalia, etc. A fascinatingly illustrated tour of ornately designed sleds and carriages through the ages.
