Elaborate design in each corner extending throughout and surrounding a pedestal with two angels holding a crown over a butterfly within a circle, all on the foliate pedestal stand. Same pattern repeated on lower cover, except that there is a chalice in the centre. All edges gilt. Elaborate gilt spine. Top of spine repaired.

A decorative edition of Rev. Downeys delightful and oft-quoted proverbs which was from the library of Rev. Daniel Sharp (1783-1853) , the longtime pastor of Bostons Charles Street Baptist Church and one of the founders of the Newton Theological Institution. His bookplate is on the front pastedown, with handwritten notation that the book is part of the Sharp Collection. A. C. Sharp penciled signature on front free endpaper. Rev.
