Constable, London, 1967. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. 345 g.; V, 224 pages, last two pages blank. Black coloured boards with gilt titles to the back strip. Minor rubbing to the head and to the heel of the back strip. Light browning to the text block edges. Illustrated dustwrapper, with green background and white and black titles to the front panel and a white to the back strip. Rubbing and a little chipping to the dustwrapper corners. Rubbing and creasing to the dustwrapper edges, with loss of dustwrapper colour. There is a horizontal crease measuring 2.5 ", 0.25 " from the lower back strip edge, in the middle of the back strip. Light rubbing and some fading to the dustwrapper. The back dustwrapper panel has become somewhat dull and yellow. Creasing to the lower right-hand corner of the front fold over panel and to the top right-hand corner of the rear fold over panel. The Protectors are six members of the International Security Service, who are a small company protecting other companies secrets. One of their clients security has been breached and the plans of a revolutionary new carburettor has been photocopied. It is up to the members of the International Security Service to retrieve this information. Thier opponents are clever, brutal and seemingly invulnerable. This is the first UK edition.
