One of Moss Bros's famous "frivolous" booklets, launched during the Great Depression to "put a smile on customers's faces." Demy 8vo (215 x 139mm): 20pp, with five full-page color illustrations and nine pen-and-ink drawings (including title-page vignette and vignettes in sepia on inner front and rear covers) by Ardizzone. One of the United Kingdom's top menswear shops, specializing in formal dress wear, Moss Bros today has more than 150 locations throughout the country. It was founded, in 1851, by Moses Moss in Covent Garden. At the outbreak of World War One, the staff slept in the shop to keep up with the demand for uniforms. And in 1924, King George V's Private Secretary recommended Moss Bros to members of the first Labour Government for the correct "levee" dress to wear at court.
