London, Berlin, Leipzig: Various,, [c.1860-1920.]. 45 volumes, octavo. Bound in burgundy half calf by Bayntun-Riviere, titles and centre tool to spine, raised bands, matching cloth boards, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt. The occasional minor blemish, overall in excellent condition. A collection of early editions of Trollope's most prominent fictional works including the Barsetshire novels, the parliamentary novels and the dramatic novels. Also included are the "overseas novels" (with the exception of Nina Balatka), the majority of the "comic novels" and four volumes of short stories. Given how prolific a writer Trollope was (he published something like 70 books) and the fact that there was never a collected edition of his entire works produced this is one of the most comprehensive collections that we have come across. A handsomely bound set.
