Typescript of the lecture notes delivered by German literary scholar Wilhelm Emrich (best known for his numerous books and essays on Franz Kafka) delivered at the University of Koln Winter Semester 1953/54; a course in modern German literature referencing Kafka, Holz, Stramm, Brecht, Broch, Benn, Junger, and Rilke; includes 39 pages of handwritten notes bound in to rear of text, possibly Emrich's own notes, but also could be the notes of a student attending; text and notes in German; pages typed on rectos only, hole-punched and bound by black cord, stapled to brown card wraps.
