Also includes a gift inscription, "To my good friend Edward Pinney, July 7, 1942 Paul." 8vo 5.75" x 8.13" pp. [iv] viii [2] 1-295. Sunning on spine in a tight binding. Small sticker price on rear inside cover. Hoover and Gibson analyze the outcome of WWI and why it did not translate into a brokered peace which could survive and eventually resulted in another great war. "The long range economic tasks of the peace table will be concerned chiefly with the international phases of trade, credit, and currency. Their successful solution affects not only domestic recoveries in the world, but will reduce the economic pressures which militate against lasting peace." (p 208).
