Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1903. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. Burgundy cloth. No jacket. 631 pp. Black and white photos and illustrations throughout. An exhaustive guide to maintaining a horse stable and horses, discussing construction considerations for the stable, as well as considerations in carriages. With many chapters devoted to the proper equipment for horses, as well as the selection and care of horses. This edition with chapters on hunters and hunting by Harry W. Smith; exhibiting by Francis Ware; hints on driving by Frederick Ashenden; riding and driving for women by Belle Beach. GOOD condition. Moderate scuffing and some fading to the covers, with heavy scuffing and fading to the spine. Extremities frayed and worn. Several owner's signatures present, with notes on the inside front cover. A few stray pencil underlines and check marks in the text. One page offset from a clipping laid in. Interior hinges weak but holding.

Maroon cloth, lettered in gilt to spine and front, with nice gilt vignette to front of a carriage driving. 631pp. With 53 plates of b&w photos, as well as many line engraved illustrations in text. First publoshed in 1899, this edition has 5 new chapters on subjects such as hunting, riding and driving for women, and exhibiting. A nice copy in Very good conditon. Covers are bright, with a few light marks and light rubbing to edges. Pages are clean and unfoxed, some pencil marginal lines to text, and pencil owner's details to front.Binding sound .
