Dubravka Duric was born in 1961 in Dubrovnik, Croatia and lives in Belgrade, Serbia. She is a poet, an essayist, a performer and a translator of American poetry. The present volume was her first book. Among her other poetry collections are "Traps" [1995] and "Cosmopolitan Alphabet" [1995]. She is an editor of ProFemina and lectures at the Center for Women's Studies in Belgrade. She is the editor, with Misko Suvokovic, of "Impossible Histories Impossible Histories: Historic Avant-Gardes, Neo-Avant-Gardes, and Post-Avant-Gardes in Yugoslavia, 1918-1991 [MIT Press, 2004].
