Oxford University Press. Very Good. A 2 volume set in original publisher's blue cloth - gilt embossed to the spine. No jackets. 1937. Second edition. Volume I: 292pp. Volume II: 326pp. Some fading to the spines - more notably of volume one - the gilt titles remain completely legible. Some mottling to the spine of volume one. Some spotting to the upper edges of both volumes. A former owner's neat printed bookplate to each volume.

Wroth, but is otherwise unchanged from the Second edition. 367 illustrations, some folding. According to Webber (p.126), this work by the head of the Merrymount Press "is not likely to be superseded as a standard authority on typography."
