o Alexandre Estgnard (1833-1918) was a French politician and author.

Magistrate in 1859, Alexandre Estignard was posted to Baume-les-Dames, Lons-le-Saunier, Gray and Vesoul. In 1867, he was advocate general in Besançon, then in 1870 in Limoges. He then went to advise the Besançon Court of Appeal.

He was a deputy for Doubs from 1876 to 1878 and sat on the right, supporting the government during the "crisis of May 16". He was re-elected in 1877, but the election was invalidated, and he lost his seat during the election in 1878.

His very lively character earned him numerous enemies and several duels.

After leaving political life, he devoted himself to historical and literary work on his property in Vuillafans.
