Contains colour illustrated frontispiece. Pages are lightly foxed, but text remains clear. Binding is firm. Previous owner's inscriptions to front free endpaper. Boards and spine have minimal shelf-wear, with mild corner bumping and crushing to ends. Noticeable scuffing and bleach spotting overall, with visible marks also. Book has a minor backwards lean.

Rand, McNally & Company. Hardcover. Good. Includes both volumes with blue cloth cover. Moderate to heavy shelf wear to cover. Both are clean with no marks or inscriptions. Volume 1 has a few laid in pages, the interior of volume 2 is in better condition.

There is a previous owner's name sticker - dated 1884 - after the front end page. This is a fair indication around when the book was published. The spine is partly cracked within. The back end page has been removed. The pages are tanned, but the text is still crisp and legible. Occasional age related marks can be noticed in the text. The blocks are gilded. Contemporary owner's signature. "A series of letters of Adina, a jewess of Alexandria supposed to be sojourning in Jerusalem in the days of Herod, addressed to her father, a wealthy Jew in Egypt." Slightly shaken, though hinges still strong and all pages are firmly attached. Mild foxing throughout. A good copy.. New Edition. Cloth. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
