This book is in good condition.There is some wear on the front and back cover. There is a stain on the front cover in the title. Most of the wear is on the spine with the edges beginning to fray.. There is also wear on the other edges on the cover. There is some bumping of the corners.The previous owners signature is on the inside of the front cover board and his seal is on the front end page. The pages are just beginning to yellow and tan.The binding is tight and solid.

"The present volume is offered as a contribution to the promotion of the study of medieval Latin. It is intended to serve a twofold process. Its first object is to provide a collection of material that will prepare students, especially in the modern languages and history, who have had at least four years of high-school Latin, to read ordinary medieval Latin texts with a fair degree of ease and assurance. Its second object is to meet the needs of more advanced students who are interested in the field by furnishing an anthology of medieval Latin prose and poetry. The selections have been made with three classes of readers in mind: the classical student who is interested in the survival of the classical tradition in the Middle Ages; the student of the medieval literatures; and the student of medieval thought and culture.
