The covers are heavily rubbed. There are a number of dark mottled stains on the spine and covers. The most prominent stain, on the spine, measures approx. 1" x 2". There are thin losses from the ends of the backstrip, and the leather at the head of the spine has a large chip. There is also a 1 and 1/2 inch long crack in the leather of the spine. There are two dark stains on the top edge of the text block. The endsheets and flyleaves are heavily foxed. The preliminary pages have minor contemporary notations. The text block is cracked multiple times however it is still relatively sturdy. John Impey also wrote The Practices of the Courts of King's Bench and Common Pleas, and of the Modern Reader.
