The author, a pediatrist and lecturer at a number of New York medical institutions, begins his book with no assumptions about what the young mother or nurse may or may not know about infant care stating, "many readers of good books on baby-care are given too great credit for knowing the little "ins and outs" of the care of a baby, which in reality they do not know." Light foxing throughout; hinges a bit tender. In publisher's olive green cloth, titled in black.
