In 1921 the New York Yiddish-language daily news-magazine Forverts commissioned the Polish photographer Alter Kacyzne to document Jewish history and culture throughout Poland--Poyln, as it was pronounced in Yiddish. Edited by Marek Web and augmented with stunning black-and-white photography and told with a gripping story of Kacyzne's life and demise. Sterling condition hardcover copy, with unbruised tips, tight binding, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear; not ex-library, with neither underlining nor highlighting anywhere. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear beyond a faint crease to bottom front corner, protected by a plastic coat, dust jacket not being price-clipped. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
