Small, oval, leather booklabel on the verdso of the front endpaper, with resultant offsetting tot he facing leaf; there is also offsetting from the prints to the facing pages; wear to crown, hinges and edges rubbed; an attractive copy.. 4to, 182pp; six aquatint engravings as well as an engraved dedication leaf; three-quarter morocco and pebble-grain cloth, t.e.g. The first edition with these illustrations, drawn by Newell in support of theory that he had identified the Irish village that inspired Goldsmith's great poem. The six sepia-tinted engravings are splendid.
