About This Item
A.H.Bullen, 1909. 1st edition. Hardcover. These are the original sheets in what Wade calls a ' later copy of the first edition ', ie in brown paper boards with a linen spine, a white spine label printed in black, white endpapers, all edges untrimmed, with the 'h' erased from line 6 on page 8 (thus reading ' host of the air'), and the duplicate spine label on the rear endpaper. Frontispiece portrait of Yeats from a photograph by Alvin Langdon Coburn, with tissue guard. The spine is rubbed, also the boards, and the endpapers are a trifle browned, but the pages themselves are in excellent condition. In a protective brown wrapper. Quite rare today.
