Hardcover with dust jacket.  Book in very good condition with edge points gently bumped. Internally, pages clean and bright, free of previous owners marks or signatures. The Frank Utpatel designed dust jacket is in very good condition, slightly sun-faded along edges and spine strip and with a crease along the middle of the spine strip. It is not price clipped.

Provenance: Richard Manney (book labels), one of the most famous book collectors of the 20th century who was known for the best examples on the market. A selection of his library was sold at Sotheby’s in 1991, amassing a total of over $3.9m which was the first multimillion–dollar library assembled in the 1980s to come up for auction. .

Each poem in the sonnet cycle 'Sonnets of the Midnight Hours' (composed around 1927) was inspired by a dream of Wandrei's.
