Squarish 8vo, two-toned cloth,. gray and white, soiled; lettering on spine silver; frontispiece foxed due to acidity which has slightly affected the title; inner lower corner bumped Institutionally common.This is the Deposit Copy A from the Library of Congress with the library's "Surplus/Duplicate" stamp on the copyright page. Also the receipt information.Although claimed by Kentucky, Stanton was born in Virginia, his father was also Virginia-born and served as a Representative in Congress for Virginia, his brother, the author's uncle, served as a Representative from Tennessee.Stanton was a lawyer, a journalist, and did settle in Kentucky of which he was a long-time Poet Lareate. His best known poem is the "Moneyless Man". This posthumous publication contains one poem, not previously collected
