Allen, City Engineers Office, Columbus, OH (signature on front endpaper, with several folded manuscripts in rear pocket, including drawings of a skew portal and invoices for billing bolts). Edited by F. H. Kindl. Illustrations. 8vo. The first such pocket companion appeared in 1872, compiled by Walter Kappe for Carnegie, Kloman & Co., proprietors of Union Iron Mills, Pittsburgh, PA, with subsequent editions appearing in 1876, 1884, 1889, 1890 and 1892. The present 1893 edition is the first under the corporation name Carnegie Steel Company, the company having officially been formed in 1892 after consolidation with H. C. Frick & Co. The guide includes an incredible amount of information on products available, their uses and costs.
